LOCATION: Brecksville, Ohio
DIRECTIONS: From the Ohio Turnpike take exit 12 and
drive south on State Road 8 to Road 303. Turn right and follow Road 303 about I mile
to the Happy Days Visitors Center where you can obtain a map of the recreation area.
You can also access the area from 1-77 which runs north and south on the west side
of the recreation area. From 1-77 you can take either Wheatley Road on the south
or Chippewa Road on the north and drive east to Riverview Road.
HOURS: Open year-round.
BEST TIMES: Mid-April through mid-June and September
and October are the prime birding times but this scenic park has more than enough
interesting nesters to make a birding trip worthwhile from spring through fall.
BIRDING HIGHLIGHTS: Especially fine birding for neotropical
songbirds in spring and fall. With a wide variety of habitats and ecosystems, the
large recreation attracts a wide variety of interesting birds from spring through
fall.
