LOCATION: Oak Harbor, Ohio
DIRECTIONS: On Ohio State Route 2, either 16 miles east
of Toledo or 17 miles west of Port Clinton.
HOURS: Open year-round from dawn to dusk except from early
October to Thanksgiving during waterfowl season when the Marsh is open to the general
public on Sundays only. The Sportsmen~s Migratory Bird Center is open year-round
Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. From March to November, it is open Saturday
and Sunday noon-6:00 p.m., and in April and May on Saturdays 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
BEST TIMES: Great year-round birding and spectacular
birding during spring and fall migration.
BIRDING HIGHLIGHTS: Best all-around birding spot in Ohio. The
marsh can hold fantastic numbers of waterfowl in both spring and fall as well as
an equally impressive variety of shorebirds. The Magee Marsh Bird Trail is one of
the great spots in the Midwest for viewing warblers and other songbirds during spring
and fall migration.
