LOCATION: Leamington, Ontario
DIRECTIONS: From Windsor follow Route 3 to Leamington
(about 30 miles) and from Leamington follow the National Park Road signs to the park.
HOURS: Open year-round from 6 a.m-9 p,m. and for three weeks
in May the park opens at 5 a.m. There is a small entry fee.
BEST TIMES: Great birding from April to June with the
high point of migration being the 2nd and 3rd weeks in May. Also very good birding
from late August through October with the best fall birding from late August through
September.
BIRDING HIGHLIGHTS: Hands down the best birding site in inland
North America. Ranked by all experts as one of the top two or three birding sites
in North America. Ranked as one of the few places left on this continent that is
truly magical.
