About the Light:
|
|
One ot the most unusual and eyecatching
lighthouses on the Great Lakes, this structure is officially described as "Romanesque."
The roof of the dwelling seems to catch your attention long before the flashing of
the light. Rounded eaves melt atop the buffcolored brick house. The whole gingerbread,
fairy-tale structure looks strangely out of place in the front yard of the industrial
revolution. Automated ill 1965, the light is an active Coast Guard facility with
no access to the public. |
