The Toledo Zoo is just the right size for an afternoon
visit or an all-day affair. The zoo is home to more than 3,000 animals representing
525 species, including the nation's first underwater viewing Hippoquarium. Their
newest exhibit, The Arctic Encounter now gives visitors a chance to enjoy underwater
viewing of seals and polar bears. This exhibit is just one of the new additions for
the zoo that is part of the expansion planthat will double its size by 2005 The zoo
is open year round except, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
